Fishing

The Onkivesi Lake is abounding in fish. With lures and trolls you can catch pike, perch and pike perch. In winter an ice angler can catch perch, roach and also burbot.

You only need to have the state fishing card to fish on the marked waters as the surrounding fishing waters are mostly private.

It is also possible to participate in fishing trips with the cottage owners in the winter doing net-fishing or in the summer big fyke or seine fishing.

The rapids of Vianta (about 6 km from cottages) is a pleasant rapids for fishing with lures for the whole family. There are rainbow trout, lake trout and pike perch in the rapids. Fishing licenses are for sale near to the rapids of Vianta.

Hiking and skiing

The Paavo track (about 1,5 km from cottages) is a 140 km marked hiking track situated in the district of Maaninka and Lapinlahti municipalities. Along the path there are also observation towers, lean-to shelters and a wilderness cabin.
